CIHLA – External power supply for Serge synthesizers

Description

CIHLA is a High End linear low noise external power supply specially made and designed for Serge synthesizers. Inside a rigid metal enclosure is a PCB filled with hand-selected electrical components, toroidal transformer, heatsink etc. On one side of the enclosure is a power inlet for the main voltage with a power switch and a fuse holder. On the second side are four output connectors, banana ground connection, GND / LIFT switch and +12V / -12V LED which represent output voltages. Under normal mode of operation when the power switch is ON, LED indications emit green light. LEDs go out when there is either a malfunction, overload, or short present so you always know when it is safe to work with your Serge system. Primary side of PSU contains an LC filter, which removes interference from AC mains. Toroidal transformer with a metal cover is the key element present to minimize electromagnetic interference. CIHLA is built on quality PCB with copper thickness of 70 μm, which ensures high reliability and minimal losses of power on dedicated PCB routes. GND / LIFT switch can be used for disconnection (LIFT position) secondary ground potential from primary/enclosure ground potential. This feature can help you to solve problems with ground loops when more devices are patched together and then supplied from one or more wall sockets (synths, mixer, PC, modular system…). Under normal conditions without ground loop problems, we recommend keeping the switch in GND position.
